A beautiful, bright natural red pear-shaped ruby, sourced by him in Malawi, was at the heart of this very special engagement ring.

We initially met with both partners, who wanted to be part of the design process together. They had known each other for years before they started dating, and that history showed in their easy connection. Big smiles, so much excitement and a love that felt incredibly effortless.

There was just one condition: when it came to the final design and the proposal, she wanted to be completely surprised. So, we said goodbye to the bride-to-be and got to work with the groom.

Together, we created a yellow gold solitaire, allowing that incredible pear-shaped ruby to take centre stage. Hidden inside the band, we set a tiny diamond with a meaning known only to them; a small, personal detail that made the piece entirely their own.

The stone itself holds symbolism perfectly suited to their story: a natural red ruby representing love, passion and enduring devotion, cut into a distinctive pear shape as individual as the relationship it was chosen to celebrate.

He proposed in Turkey on the most beautiful day, and seeing the ring on her hand afterwards was the perfect ending to this project. From Malawi to Turkey, and now onto a lifetime together. We wish them both so much happiness in this next chapter.
